Parashat Ki Teitzei (August 29, 2009)

Our memory is what makes us Jews. And we have so many things to remember. In the Torah we are commanded to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy; to remember that we were slaves in Egypt; to remember how God redeemed us from that physical and spiritual nightmare; to remember that God loves us so much that He gave us the Torah, through which we have eternal life as a people; to remember that God promised us our land of milk and honey; to remember that we must obey the Ten Commandments, including worshipping Adonai alone.
