HIAS Refugee Resettlement Volunteer Orientation

Temple Emanu-El has partnered with Congregation Rodeph Sholom to help resettle refugee families in New York City. Temple members are needed as volunteers for committees on education, employment, health, housing and transportation. This is a year-long commitment. Can you help welcome the stranger?

Volunteer Recognition Shabbat

Join with friends and family as we pay special tribute to our fellow congregants who participate in Emanu-El's many volunteer programs. We will honor all volunteers, individuals and groups. A special Oneg Shabbat will follow.

Young Familes: Chanukah Celebration

Come celebrate Chanukah with food, treats, arts and crafts, and stories! Families are encouraged to bring a chanukiyah from home to participate in a community candle-lighting ceremony; candles will be provided.

Ronald McDonald House

Once a month, under the sponsorship of the Women's Auxiliary, Emanu-El congregants serve dinner and organize art projects and entertainment for the families residing at New York City's Ronald McDonald House. Volunteers must register with the Women's Auxiliary: (212) 744-1400, ext. 235.
