Sponsored with the Stecher & Horowitz Foundation, this concert series presents prize
winners of the New York International Piano Competition. Our third performer of the year is
Jun Hwi Cho, age 18. Admission is free and open to the public.

Born in Seoul, Korea, Jun Hwi began his piano studies at the age of 9. He completed four years in the Preparatory Division of the Korean National University of Arts and attended the Korean National Institute for the Gifted in Arts. He graduated from the Yewon School (Arts Middle School) in 2012 and attended the Pre-College Division of the Juilliard School. He remains at Juilliard, currently pursuing his bachelor’s in music.

In addition to being the Joyce B. Cowin First Prize Winner of the 2014 New York International Piano Competition, Jun Hwi was a semi-finalist in the 2016 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition and First Prize Winner of the 2014 Debut International Piano Competition. He has appeared as a soloist with the Orchestra de Wallonie (Brussels), the Korean W. Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bucheon Symphonia Orchestra in Seoul. He has appeared twice on the Kumho Prodigy Concert Series and has performed on the Korean Broadcasting System, Boston University Tanglewood Institute Prodigy Concert and the 26th Young Musicians Concert in Seoul.
