Club 65: DOROT in the Community and at Temple Emanu-El
Tuesday, Nov 13th 11:00 AM

1 East 65th Street
Free
Yael Kornfeld, LMSW, will be leading this event about “DOROT in the community and at Temple Emanu-El." Yael has been a synagogue social worker since 2012. During her time at DOROT, the synagogue program has expanded from five synagogues to nine.
Kornfeld graduated from Hunter College School of Social Work in 2010 and worked at SelfHelp prior to joining DOROT.
She graduated from Rutgers University majoring in Jewish Studies, where she wrote her honors thesis on "Who Studies Yiddish Today and Why."
Following her time at Rutgers, Yael was an Avodah Corps Fellow in Washington DC in 2007 working with the homeless population of the city. Born in Haifa, Yael grew up in Rochester, New York and was married to Rabbi Avram Mlotek in the same synagogue her siblings, parents and grandparents were wed. Together with her partner, she co-founded Base Hillel, home centered models of Jewish engagement. In her spare time, Kornfeld enjoys writing letters, making big messes in the kitchen and listening to her two children, Revaya and Hillel Yosl, play together (when they are not attacking one another).

If you are unable to join us in person and wish to join via conference call, please contact the Membership Office at [email protected] or 212-507-9514 and you will be provided with dial-in information.
