rom February 2008 through the end of March 2008, the Religious School collected tzedakah to benefit the UJA-Federation of New York. In these seven weeks, students in our program raised a total of $722.67. The UJA-Federation works to fulfill its mission to care for those in need, to rescue those in harm’s way, and to renew and strengthen the Jewish people in New York, in Israel and around the world through a network of more than 100 agencies.
Our Sunday program, which has the fewest students, raised the most amount of money — $286.73. The Monday and Wednesday programs raised $209.68 and $226.26, respectively.
The Wednesday sixth grade class was the greatest single fundraiser, bringing in a total of $121. The second largest fundraiser was the Monday second grade, which raised $91.54 from only nine students!
Overall, our top fundraisers by grade (all classes combined) were the sixth graders ($138), followed closely by the second graders ($136.54). The third grade class ranked third by collecting $116.96. Well done!
