emple Emanu-El’s Tikkun Olam Committee is partnering with NYC Service, an initiative of the Mayor’s Office, to create an SAT prep course for low-income but motivated high school juniors attending the High School for Arts, Imagination and Inquiry (MLK Campus, 122 Amsterdam Ave. at 65th Street). Based on their academic performance, 40 students will be selected by the school’s principal to participate in the program at no cost.NYC Service has coordinated volunteer tutors from Princeton Review. Temple Emanu-El will provide the necessary support materials (review books, notebooks), Metro Cards for round-trip transportation, and lunch for each student as well as all volunteers. Temple volunteers will be needed from 8:30 AM to 10:45 AM and from 10:45 AM to 1 PM to assist with setup, check-in, serving of snacks and lunch, and supervising and scoring practice exams.
