n September 2009, Tikkun Olam of Temple Emanu-El shipped 50 AT&T prepaid phone cards to Jewish troops stationed overseas. Accompanying the phone cards were Rosh Hashanah greeting cards with messages from students in our Religious School. The “Phone Cards for the Troops” program began in April 2008 when congregants sponsored the purchase of the cards through a $25 donation. Because of the overwhelming generosity of our congregants, to date we have shipped out more than 200 cards, allowing military personnel to call their families during the holidays. Thank You!
