SUMMARY:Shabbat Shirah with Special Guest Josh Nelson
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate Shabbat Shirah, the Sabbath of Song, with special guest Josh Nelson. This special Shabbat commemorates the Song of the Sea, when Moses and the Israelites sang praises after crossing the Red Sea. Our service will feature uplifting musical selections led by our clergy and choir, highlighting the rich musical traditions of our congregation.\nAbout Josh Nelson\nOne of the most popular performers and composers in modern Jewish music, Josh Nelson brings an extraordinary message of hope, unity, and spirituality to concert stages and worship services across the globe. Josh is a gifted multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose work is celebrated and integrated into the repertoire of congregations, camps, and communities around the world. A classically trained musician who is equally versed in rock, jazz and world music, Josh combines a broad range of influences into a breathtaking musical style that is accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Hailed by Time Magazine as a “star of the New Jewish Music,” Josh performs professionally on as many as thirteen different instruments (though not at the same time).\nServices begin at 6:00 PM in our historic sanctuary and are livestreamed on our website, Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/emanuelnyc ), and YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXu2qyXUYVSKmPEdMYJOA9Q ). Whether joining us in person or virtually, we invite you to be part of this musical celebration of freedom and gratitude.\nQuestions? Please contact us at 212-744-1400 or temple@emanuelnyc.org ( mailto:temple@emanuelnyc.org ).\n
