In this season of giving, the Tikkun Olam Committee is grateful to our community for their generosity and compassion. As a congregation, Temple Emanu-El donated over 2,800 pounds of food to New Yorkers, enough to provide more than 2,200 meals for individuals and families in need.
“It’s remarkable to see people stepping up in support of our neighbors. That is what community is about,” said Susan Kaufman, co-chair of the Tikkun Olam Committee.
These donations have already reached a wide network of partner organizations serving New Yorkers with dignity and care, including City Harvest, New York Common Pantry, The Doe Fund, Urban Outreach, Xavier Mission, and Fashion Industries High School.
“I want to thank our community for helping us make a meaningful impact,” said Rabbi Amy Ehrlich, clergy sponsor of the Tikkun Olam Committee.
