Family Engagement

Our parents and caregivers play a vital role in our School community, modeling the values we want to instill in our children and the lives we want them to lead.

We know many parents in our community want to participate in the Jewish education of their children but also have busy schedules that can make it difficult to free up time during the workday. That’s why we are creating many accessible moments that will enable parents to take part in their children’s Jewish learning.

Join us for Havdalah and Tefilah while school is in session. And we welcome you to Shabbat dinners and services and to community-wide holiday programming all year long.

A woman leads a musical moment at Temple Emanu-El, singing into a microphone and engaging children and adults seated nearby. A table in the foreground holds Shabbat candles, a kiddush cup, and other ritual items, with the synagogue’s stained glass windows illuminated in the background.

Family Shabbat

Family Shabbat: Save the Dates!

Join us for Family Shabbat, filled with joy and gratitude! Led by Rabbi Sarah Reines and Director of Lifelong Learning, Mike Witman, this celebration also features our musician in residence, Ross M. Levy.

We understand that busy parents in our community – from Nursery School to Religious School – want to create a Shabbat experience for their children, but struggle to find the time. That’s why we’re offering accessible moments like Family Shabbat, where parents can participate in their children’s Jewish learning. Just register and show up. We’ll handle the rest. Open to all Temple Emanu-El families.
