Rabbi Sarah H. Reines grew up at Temple Emanu-El, where her family are long-time members and both of her parents were on the faculty of the religious school. She attended Hebrew school, celebrated her bat mitzvah, and sang in the religious school choir at the temple.

Previously a rabbinic intern at Temple Emanu-El, Rabbi Reines has served as rabbi at Central Synagogue and Shaaray Tefila. She also launched Rabbi Without Walls, an independent rabbinate supporting affiliated and unaffiliated Jewish households.

Rabbi Reines has served on the board of several Jewish and secular non-profit organizations including the Central Conference of American Rabbis and the Women’s Rabbinic Network. She is a regular contributor to publications such as kveller.com, The Art of the Sermon and ReformJudaism.com.

Rabbi Reines received her BA and MA from Brandeis University, and her Master of Hebrew Letters, rabbinic ordination, and Doctor of Divinity from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
