The Well Women's Study Group

Ancient texts. New voices. A sacred space for Jewish learning and ritual led by women.

Five women in black robes and white tallitot smile together at Temple Emanu-El, gathered as a women's Jewish study group.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Well, Temple Emanu-El’s intergenerational women’s study group, created in partnership with our women clergy and members. This program is open to temple members only.

The Well is envisioned as much more than just another study group: it’s a community to sustain, strengthen and revitalize you with intellectual, spiritual, and emotional connections.

The Well 5786: Ancient Traditions, Modern Rituals

Together we’ll explore the evolving landscape of Jewish ritual. How do ancient traditions inspire contemporary practice? How are modern Jews, especially women, creating new rituals to sacralize significant moments that aren’t included in the traditional prayerbook? We’ll discover how rituals, both private and public, can mark meaningful moments, foster community connections, and honor the wisdom of our tradition.
