The Well Women's Study Group
Ancient texts. New voices. A sacred space for Jewish learning and ritual led by women.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Well, Temple Emanu-El’s intergenerational women’s study group, created in partnership with our women clergy and members. This program is open to temple members only.
The Well is envisioned as much more than just another study group: it’s a community to sustain, strengthen and revitalize you with intellectual, spiritual, and emotional connections.
The Well 5787: Jewish Ethics in the Modern World
In today’s complicated world, we can turn to Jewish moral teachings for guidance. From the Torah to rabbinic period to contemporary responsa, we’ll discuss both ethics bein adam l’chavero (between a person and their fellow person) and bein adam l’Makom (between a person and God).
Each session, taught by one of our female clergy, will explore a different realm of Jewish ethics.
