Dear Friends,
I share with you below the statement by the American Jewish Committee on President Trump’s recent remarks calling Jews who vote for Democrats uninformed and disloyal. However one interpreted the President’s comments – whether the supposed disloyalty was to America or Israel or both – his choice of a classic anti-Semitic trope, ironically here in defense of Israel, was alarming and inexcusable especially in light of recent violence against the American Jewish community. No legitimate anger at the anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic rhetoric of the intersectional left in which a handful Congressional Democrats have trafficked justifies such remarks. I am grateful to AJC’s David Harris for his swift repudiation of them.
