On Sunday, January 16, Temple Emanu-El hosted After Colleyville: Interfaith Service on the steps of our Fifth Avenue Sanctuary. Rabbis Joshua M. Davidson, Amy B. Ehrlich and Sara Y. Sapadin were honored to welcome special guest speakers US Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney, Reverend Dr. Scott Black Johnston of Fifth Ave. Presbyterian Church, and author Sabeeha Rehman.

Dear Friends,
How relieved we were to learn that the hostages taken at Congregation Beth Israel are safe. Our prayers remain with all those who now must recover from such an unimaginable trauma.
We Jews are no strangers to attacks on our houses of worship. And we know that anti-Semitism is on the rise in America. Thankfully we are not alone in fighting it. Sunday afternoon we will gather with members of other faith communities as we come together in defiance of those who would do us harm. Join us in person Sunday, January 16, at 1pm on the Fifth Avenue steps of our sanctuary building for a brief prayer service. Dress warmly.
And I hope you will join us online later this week for two other important evenings. On Wednesday at 6:30pm, Jonathan Greenblatt, National Director of the Anti-Defamation League, will speak on the many manifestations of anti-Semitism and hate in our country today. And on Friday at 6pm during Shabbat services, we will bear witness to the resilience of our people as we commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day with survivor Rosa Plawner and the Violins of Hope.
