Each fall, Temple Emanu-El transforms its majestic Fifth Avenue Sanctuary with the construction of a spectacular 30-foot-tall sukkah (temporary hut) in celebration of Sukkot, the Jewish harvest festival. Adorned with elaborate florals, lush greenery, and autumnal crops, Emanu-El’s soaring sukkah standing at three stories high is one of New York City’s most striking celebrations of the season.

For two days only, the doors of the Fifth Avenue Sanctuary will be open for New Yorkers and visitors to step inside and see the sukkah up close. Take in its remarkable scale and intricate details, and learn more about the traditions of Sukkot in one of New York City’s most iconic sacred spaces.

Visitors may also take a complimentary 30-minute tour of the historic Sanctuary during each viewing period.
