Ziv Koren’s October 7 War Museum Exhibition Closing Night

On October 7, 2023, photojournalist Ziv Koren grabbed his cameras and headed south from Tel Aviv. Confronted by devastation in Sderot, he began documenting what he saw. Bearing witness became his mission.

For the next five months, Koren captured destruction and resilience, grief and solidarity across Israel. A veteran photojournalist who has covered conflicts worldwide, he says nothing prepared him for October 7.

On the closing night of his exhibition at the Bernard Museum of Judaica, Koren joins us to discuss the emotional toll of documenting trauma, the courage he witnessed, and the responsibility of preserving a visual record that cannot be forgotten.
