Our First Spring Mitzvah Day is in the News

Tikkun Olam Volunteers and Project Leaders gathered together in Wise Hall this past Sunday, March 12, to assemble over 1200 packages containing over 15,000 items, including Passover-related goods, for communities in need during Tikkun Olam’s first Spring Mitzvah Day. We are grateful to the over 70 community members who arrived ready to make a difference.

Tikkun Olam extends our gratitude to our partner organizations for this Mitzvah Day: Selfhelp, Part of the Solution, The Bowery Mission and The Urban Outreach Center. We would also like to thank all of the volunteers who participated in this Mitzvah Day, all of the Project Leaders who set up and assisted at each Mitzvah table, and the incredible Temple Emanu-El staff, notably Temple Administrator Mark Heutlinger, whose insight and encouragement are integral to this annual tradition.

Spring Mitzvah Day received press coverage from CBS News New York (reprinted in Yahoo! News) and News 12 The Bronx and was a Photo of the Day in New York Jewish Week/JTA.
